What to Bring With You to the Funeral Home for Arrangements

We’ve provided a list of what to bring with you to the funeral home for arrangements.

PERSONAL ITEMS
  • Clothing (Long Sleeves Preferred) and full set of undergarments
  • Shoes and socks or hosiery
  • Glasses (if applicable)
  • Dentures (if applicable)
  • Jewelry
  • A recent photograph that shows their hairstyle/cosmetics use
  • A photograph to be placed with their online obituary and in newspaper
INFORMATION TO GATHER:
  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Legal Address- can be nursing facility or assisted living facility.
  • Spouse’s full name (including maiden name) and wedding date if applicable
  • Parent’s full names (including mother’s maiden name)
  • Names of schools attended and employers
  • Names of surviving relatives (children, siblings, grandchildren etc…. include spouse’s names where necessary
PAPERWORK TO COLLECT
  • Life insurance policies that may be used to fund a funeral
  • Cemetery Paperwork
  • Funeral pre-arrangement paperwork you may still have at home
  • Military Discharge Papers (DD-214 form)
