Personalized Funeral Services
The loss of a loved one and the grief and mourning
that accompanies it is a difficult and complex process. With two
generations of experience as funeral directors, we deeply understand
the emotional needs of people who are experiencing feelings of loss.
That is why we often recommend that time be set aside
for a viewing of the deceased. This final chance to say good-bye
can be very healing, emotionally. A viewing brings closure, helps
people accept that death has occurred, and provided a means to make
a connection between the last time their person was seen alive and
the fact of their death.
Depending upon personal preferences, viewing of the
deceased can either be public or entirely private. This provides
a gathering of supportive friends, a truly meaningful remembrance,
and a sense of connection with those we hold most dear.
At Ritchay and Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Homes, our
family has been serving our local communities for over 46 years.
We are committed to you and your personal preferences as we work
together to plan a funeral service just the way you want it. Our
experience has shown us that most families select one of the following
services, each of which can be personalized to meet your wishes.
Traditional Funeral Service with Visitation and Burial or Entombment
This is the most commonly selected package that we offer.
This option is for families who desire to have a night visitation
with open casket. The evening visitation may also include an evening
prayer or parish rosary service if desired. The following morning,
visitation is held again prior to beginning the actual funeral service,
either at the church or at the funeral home. After the funeral service
is complete, a funeral procession to the cemetery or mausoleum precludes
the final committal of commendation service.
Traditional Funeral Service with Visitation (all
one day)
This option includes everything listed above with the
exception of not having an evening visitation. Everything is held
in one day, either at a church or our funeral home. Visitation can
be for either one or two hours before the actual funeral service
begins. This option can be customized to meet your particular families
needs.
Graveside Funeral Service
This option may be chosen if the family desires to have
all services held at either the cemetery or the mausoleum. Everything
is held in one day, and a public visitation with an open casket
is possible if services are held in the mausoleum chapel. This option
is for families who desire a simple funeral and want everything
completed in one place.
All three of the above listed services can be customized
and personalized in any way to met the personal needs or choices
of each particular family.
